Shareholder Conflict Resolution

£2,400 / €3,000 P/M

Shareholder conflict resolution is a process by which shareholders of a company who are in conflict with one another can resolve their differences in a mutually satisfactory way.

Left unchecked, disputes and misalignment between shareholders can destroy an agency overnight. Extremely common but rarely talked about, the impact can be disastrous both professionally for the business but also personally for the individuals involved.

These disputes can arise over a variety of issues, such as management decisions, financial performance, or control of the company and can be a very sensitive and challenging issue for agencies, often resulting in a collapse of the business.

Resolving conflict

Shareholder dispute resolution refers to resolving these conflicts or disputes between shareholders in a company - creating harmony, improving the health of the agency and ultimately increasing the value.

Shareholder dispute resolution typically involves some form of mediation or arbitration, in which an independent third party helps the parties to the dispute come to an agreement or resolution.

This can help to avoid costly and time-consuming legal action and can also help to protect the interests of the company and its shareholders. There are many different approaches to shareholder dispute resolution, and the specific process used will depend on the specific circumstances of the dispute.

How it works

Working with a maximum of 4 shareholders, we ask each shareholder to complete a comprehensive questionnaire about their current roles and responsibilities. We then carry out a detailed initial interview with each shareholder to understand the underlying conflicts that need resolving.

We then provide feedback with an independent professional perspective on the root cause of any individual or overarching conflicts and provide a range of options to resolve these to a successful outcome.

These options may include mediation, coaching, re-training, career planning, re-evaluation of roles and responsibilities, resetting of company vision individually and collectively as well as exit planning.

We can then provide an ongoing service to help support any transition that is required to ensure harmony between the shareholders moving forwards.

Investment

This service is £2,400 p/m and for a minimum of three months. There are options to continue with ongoing support, depending on the direction taken and the outcomes of the initial discovery phase.
